Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I should feel weird today...I mean it's Valentine's Day and I'm single. The combination of these two things should feel weird, shouldn't it? That's what some would have you think.
But believe it or not, I'm actually pretty good about it. I'm happy for those that are going out tonight with their significant others and I'm ok with seeing all of the gifts that women will receive at work day. I am in no way envious of these things; I just love watching the happiness on this day.
My little man is my Valentine's this year...
I was watching Blue's Clues this morning with Micah and they called today Love Day. I actually like that; it focuses on spreading love to everyone around you. That person doesn't just have to be your Valentine's...it can be any- and every-one. It's a really cute concept! :)
Plus, I've never been a big fan of Valentine's Day...wanna know why?
My birthday is exactly a week from today!
When I was in relationships, I never wanted a Valentine's Day gift or any special treatment for fear that it would hinder the chances of me getting a really good birthday present. My birthday is WAY more special to me!
I thoroughly enjoy my birthday...ask anyone who is around me long enough and they can tell you. I enjoy the fact that I'm a year older and that I get to reflect on my year and see how I've grown and developed. It's always been a momentous occasion for me, even more so when I stopped having birthday parties (I just don't like being in the spotlight like that).
This year is even more special to me -- I'll be 30!
My 20s have been so hectic and busy, I'm looking forward to having a calm and relaxed 30s. Probably will have no such thing since my little man is getting older and bolder lol. But I do want to create some structure and stability around him. That's my mission now.
So please enjoy this day with your loved ones...it is a special day to love and appreciate your family and friends, and celebrate with your significant other. Enjoy! :)
