How long will it take?
Should I get a potty or one of those potty seats that go over the real toilet?
Which is the best potty?
Does potty training take longer with boys than with girls?
Will it be easy with Micah?
This is my potty training debacle.
I have been noticing certain cues that potentially tell me that he may be ready...not that I was waiting on those to decide what to do, but it's just easier to know that he's ready than thinking that this whole process would have to be longer than it really needs to be.
This morning, I decided to ask Micah's Daddy if he thinks its too early for potty training. Funny enough, he responds that he has been trying with both Micah and his brother.
WHAT??? When the heck was he going to tell me this?
Don't get me wrong...I think it's great that he is starting to potty train Micah...what I don't like is the fact that he didn't have this conversation with me, especially such a significant milestone. It has to be a joint effort in getting Micah potty trained. We both have to be on the same page; otherwise, the process just takes that much longer. Micah will be doing one thing during the day and something completely different at night and on the weekends.
Only because I got agitated by this process, Micah's Daddy has now suggested that we have a detailed discussion so that we're on the same page moving forward. Really???!!!

In order to be prepared for this discussion, I've been conducting a lot of research. I've read a ton of articles about the topic and have gotten some great advice on what to do. However, the disclaimer at the end of each article says that results may vary depending on your child.
Who's going to write an article specifically on how I can potty train MY child? Now that would be a useful document to have...
Although he has many children, Micah's Daddy has his own way of doing things. I can't control what he ends up doing, but I can disclose what I would like to see happen or not happen. I can trust that he'll listen (for the most part). I wouldn't be shocked if he has both Micah and his brother sharing a potty. Ewww!!! Now that would set me on edge...
But let's not go there because I'll get upset all over again...
Any tips that you can share with me so I'm better informed during this potty training discussion? I'd love to hear them!
